Is 2000 Rs notes banned by the Government ?? Answer - No ❌❌ Today , RBI has restricted the circulation of 2000 rupee notes, which means banks won’t issue them anymore . But for the general public, 2000 rupee note is still a legal tender !! RBI taken this step because in 2019 itself RBI stopped printing 2000 rupee notes due to low usage among people of India . And because of “clean note policy” which ensure the availability of good quality banknotes to the public was not meeting up with the demand for Rs 2, 000 notes, the RBI decided to withdraw Rs 2, 000 notes from circulation. That’s why RBI wants all citizens of the country to either deposit their 2000 rupee notes in the bank or exchange them at any bank before September 30th . There is also a limit for exchange transactions, where one can exchange up to 20, 000 rupees at a time. And remember, Even after September 30th, 2000 rupee notes will still be legal tender !!
